Q. How did Totseat come about?

Mothers have been cocooning their babies in chairs for generations, using all sorts of contraptions from tea-towels, to scarves and jumpers. Totseat is the result of a particularly difficult experience with just one of these! The first Totseat was made from Rachel’s wedding dress, but now it’s made from a strong and comfortable cotton mix, which is infinitely more robust than the first version.

Q. What age of child is Totseat suitable for?

Totseat is suitable for children between eight and thirty months old. The child must be able to sit unaided before using the Totseat.

Q. Does Totseat fit every chair?

Totseat will fit most chairs with a back height of between 25cm and 75cm, and a width of less than 53cm. It adapts to fit chairs of varying heights, includes al fresco fasteners for rounded, metal-framed chairs, and also comes with a super-secure wide strap to create a back support on open-backed chairs.

Q. Is Totseat machine washable?

Absolutely. Totseat is machine washable at 40oC and can be tumble-dried too.

Q. What fabric is Totseat made of?

The printed Totseats are made from a robust but comfortable mix of 50% cotton, 50% polyester. Our Denim Totseats are 100% cotton.

Q. How big is a Totseat?

When packed in its bag, a Totseat squashes to about 18cm tall x 12cm wide x 4cm deep, making it about the size of a pair of ski gloves and easy to fit into a baby bag or handbag. One Totseat weighs about 360g. The denim Totseats are slightly heavier (380g).

Q. How long will Totseat last?

Totseat comes with a lifetime guarantee so it will be useful for many years. When it is no longer useful to you, please feel free to pass it to a friend. On the rare occasions when a Totseat is found to be faulty, we will replace it instantly and free of charge. If you are posting a Totseat to us, please ensure you get a Proof of Posting from the Post Office. We regret we are unable to process claims for packages which do not have a Proof of Posting.

Q. Can I use my Totseat in a car?

No, Totseat is not suitable for use in a car. Totseat is designed for use on static chairs.

Q. Will my Totseat fit a shopping trolley?

Yes it will but it has not been designed with shopping trolleys in mind. Totseat is designed for use on static chairs.

Q. Can I use my Totseat on a bus, or on a train?

Q. How can I buy a Totseat?

Q. If I buy a Totseat and I don't like it, can I send it back for a refund?

Yes, of course. If you buy a Totseat from us – either online or by phone – and it’s not what you want, just send it back to us and we will happily refund you. However we are unable to meet the cost of return postage if you inform us of your decision to return the Totseat more than 7 days after the date of purchase. If you are posting a Totseat to us, please ensure you get a Proof of Posting from the Post Office. We regret we are unable to process claims for packages which do not have a Proof of Posting.

Q. How long would it take to get a refund?

We try to process refunds as quickly as possible but please allow two weeks for refunds to go through.

Q. Can I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order for any reason up to seven working days after the date on which you bought the Totseat. If you have already received your Totseat and still wish to cancel your order, please let us know within this seven-day period and we will send you a stamped addressed envelope to return the Totseat to us.

Q. My child sits too low at the table when he or she is in the Totseat. Can I use a cushion?

Because Totseat transforms an adult chair into a high chair, children will always sit lower in a Totseat than they would in a formal high chair. But this, of course, always depends on the height of the chair – and the table.

If you use a cushion to boost the child in the Totseat, you must secure the cushion to the chair so that it cannot move. You can use the cummerbund to do this, but you must wrap the cummerbund from front to be back – preventing the cushion from sliding out from under the child. We take no responsibility for the use of a cushion, or similar material, as a booster element for the child in the Totseat. If you use a cushion, or similar, this is entirely at your own risk.

Q. How do I make a complaint about Totseat?

We are always sorry to hear that someone is unhappy with our product. Complaints should be submitted in writing and posted to Totseat Limited, 8 Doune Terrace, Edinburgh, EH3 6DY or emailed to info@totseat.com.
